Dear friends,
Apologies for the lack of posts! My expected move to London this spring was indefinitely delayed... and as a result, so has been my Rock of Ages Project.
This will need to be a much slower project than originally anticipated, but I still predict plenty of travel to the Big Smoke over the next few years and have promised myself I will get at least one photo during each visit.
So stay tuned... and Rock on,
Sara

Getting into the Spirit
I started compiling my list with a google search, which dug up everyone and their brother's opinions about what was worth seeing and what wasn't.
The UK government has been kind enough to provide 190 iconic rock locations, which was a good place to start, although this guy has dismissed it as "rubbish."
It also lead me to this fantastic account from a guy who worked at a record exchange called Reckless Records, a London institution until it shut down under pressure from the internet. It seems to have been the inspiration for Nick Hornby's High Fidelity, and the subsequent movie of the same name starring John Cusack, probably one of my Top 10 Favourite Movies Ever.

It also reminded me of Liv Tyler's fantastic teenage angst film Empire Records, another favorite.

Both of the films are set in the US, but I'm going to go find them both on iTunes and have some viewing material to help me get into the spirit on my way back to Hyderabad.
Rock on,

Calling all rock fans...
An idea that has been hovering just below the surface for the past several months has finally bubbled its way to the surface.
It might have been the rock influenced girls roadtrip last weekend, or reading Keith Richards' Life, or seeing my friend Jas's Bowie-inspired artwork, or even just uncovering some new Beatles rock photography just in time for a John Lennon celebration in December.
But I have a new project -- Rock Landmarks in London. As a way for me to explore the city, make good use of my spare time, and bludgeon any readers with my terrible photography skills, I have decided to take this spring and summer in London to document the vast and varied rock landmarks around the city.
I need as much help as I can get! Help me compile a list of your favourite London rock icons. What would you like to see on the list?
